2016 Missions Focus

 

SEPTEMBER MISSION FOCUS For 2016
The Missions Committee will be collecting items for "Bags of Hope" through the end of the month. Please place your items in the tub by the missions table. A list of items needed is located there as well.. We are hoping to have enough items to make at least 50 bags!

Missions Spotlight For The 2016 Month of August
Twin Lakes Camp & Conference Center is a Christian camp serving churches for over 60 years.  Our campers come from a variety of different churches from Indiana, Illinois, and throughout the Midwest.  The camp is located on 210 acres of scenic property including forests and 2 private Lakes.  Twin Lakes Camp is Owned and Operated by the Indiana Regular Baptist Youth Camp.  The IRBYC is led by a group of people who are member of supporting churches.  The board is made up of both laymen and pastors.  Twin Lakes Camp exists to assist the church by wquipping peiple for life and ministry using the Word of God and experiential learning opportunities in a contemporary yet rustic setting.

MISSIONS FOCUS For the 2016 Month of May
The mission committee will be collecting items for the Hancock County Food Bank for the month of May.  We will be focusing on items for the kids while they are out of school for the summer.  Suggested items:  peanut butter, boxed cereals, Spaghetti O's, Mac & cheese, and cake mix, frosting, and candles in a bag.  Thanks for helping ensure kids will have breakfast and lunch while on summer break.  There willl be a tub below the mission board for donations.

Missions Spotlight
Ken & Sharon Davis  Baptist Mid Missions            Project Jerusalem currently has 10 church plants in the northwest area.  Restored church in Wilkes-Barre, just over 3 years old, now averages over 200 on Sundays, has 14 house churches (small groups) that meet during the week and is preparing to launch a daughter church in nearby Hazelton, Pa.  Another church plant, Cityview Neward Church, recently saw over 160 at Sunday worship.  This church is only 2 1/2 years old, predominately Brazilian and Latino, just birthed a daughter church in nearby Long Branch, NJ.  Please pray for the continual growth and expansion and ministry opportunities of all church plants.  Please pray for Ken Davis as he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer.  

February/March Mission Focus
  • The missions committee will be collecting items to help Wheeler Mission restock their shelves.  There will be a tub below the mission display for items.  There will also be a list of especially needed items on the mission table.  Thanks for helping this homeless ministry.
  • We have begun collecting Box-Tops for Education and Labels for Education (Campbell's Soup labels).  These items can help purchase equipment etc. for our Warren Township schools.  Please drop them in the jar under the bulletin board.  They will be distributed between Hawthorne, Grassy Creek, and Eastridge Elementary.
